Lt. Jeff Guardia
Lieutenant Jeff Guardia began his Law Enforcement career in 1997 as a Corrections Deputy with the Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office attaining the rank of Corporal in 1998. Job duties included: Conducting medical and drug screening of all prisoners admitted into the facility, as well as security checks and searches.
In 1999 he began as a Patrol officer with the City of Jeanerette ultimately attaining the rank of Patrol Lieutenant in 2001 and held that rank until 2003 when he departed the agency. Responsibilities of this position were the supervision over all City patrol Officers, dispatchers, and overseeing the city lockup and prisoners. In addition to normal patrol activities he, was responsible for completing and approving accurate and articulate reporting of incidents and the oversight of all major incidents in the jurisdiction as well as the review and approval of daily reports and calls for service.
Lt. Guardia transferred to the Youngsville Police Department in 2003 and was promoted to the rank of Patrol Sgt. in 2004 until his separation from the Department in 2006. As a Patrol Sergeant with the Youngsville Police department he was responsible for supervising six Officers in the patrol division which included oversight of all major incidents. Additional responsibilities included the logging and storage of all evidence collected by the Police Department as well as the cataloging and destruction of evidence. He was also an instructor in Law Enforcement response to weapons of mass destruction.
Lt. Guardia began his employment with the Broussard Police department in 2006. Since that time he has served in almost all areas of the agency including Investigations, Patrol and Administration.
